- Pre-Fall-2017 production — no hologram disc (it was introduced then), so a genuine older parka legitimately lacks it; authenticate those on labels, construction, and the fabric ID.
Canada Goose is made in Canada (the Expedition is a Canadian-made style). The interior labels should say so. Everything below is written for the current Expedition Parka.
1. The Hologram Disc
This is the decisive check for post-2017 production.
Genuine: a circular hologram sewn into the lining (commonly near an interior seam or pocket). Tilt it under light: it shows a polar bear and a pattern that shifts and changes with the viewing angle. 2. The Arm Disc (Arctic Program Roundel)
Genuine: the circular badge on the left sleeve shows the Arctic Program design — a white outline of a land mass (an inverted view of the North Pole) on a coloured ground, with small internal blue details, embroidered and finished cleanly. The disc is firmly and evenly stitched all the way round, sits flat, and the embroidery is dense with sharp edges. The text ("CANADA GOOSE" / "ARCTIC PROGRAM") is crisp and correctly spaced.

3. The Interior Labels and Fabric ID
Genuine: the main brand label and the sewn content/care labels are cleanly stitched with straight, even seams, no fraying, and carry complete information — fill power (625), down type (white duck down), country ("MADE IN CANADA"), care symbols, size, and an RN number. There is a fabric ID / style label with the model name and a code. The "EXPEDITION" wordmark and all text are in the correct font with even spacing, no connected letters.

4. The Down Fill, Fur and Hardware
Down fill: the Expedition is a 625-fill-power white duck down parka. Genuine: the coat is very warm, lofty and light for its bulk; the baffles are evenly filled with no cold spots, plump and springy. Fakes are often heavier and less warm, filled with feather-heavy down or synthetic, with flat or lumpy baffles.

Non-YKK zippers, or a coat that is heavy and not notably warm with flat, unevenly filled baffles. The Expedition is a high-loft 625-fill down parka on YKK hardware; a heavy, poorly insulated coat with generic zips is a fake regardless of how the labels look.

Canada Goose parkas come with a hangtag, a spare-button pouch, and sometimes a care booklet. All are reproduced.
Packaging is context, not evidence. The hangtag carries the style and colour; cross-reference it against the interior style label. A genuine-looking hangtag around a coat that fails the hologram or fill check is still a fake.
