Louboutin Box Label Checker

Louboutin shoes have no serial number and no date code. What you can check is whether the box label and the shoe describe the same pair: style, heel height, size and colour. This tool checks that consistency. It does not check authenticity.

Compare the box label with the shoe

Louboutin has no serial number or date code. This tool checks whether the box label and the shoe describe the same pair. It does not check authenticity. Fill in what you have; every field is optional.

Shoe type (optional)

Measure the heel at the back, from the floor to where the heel meets the sole. Type a half size as it appears on the sole: 37½ or 37 1/2.

A match proves nothing. Only a mismatch is informative.

Counterfeiters copy real box labels and real reference numbers, and boxes are sold on their own. A label that agrees with the shoe tells you the box was chosen with care. A label that describes a different shoe tells you the box and the pair did not leave the store together. Get a professional authentication →

The Mismatch That Caught a Real Fake

In our archive, a So Kate 120 pump arrived in a box labelled “LOUIS STRASS … FLAT”, reference 1101084. Louis Strass is a flat style. The label named a different model, a different heel and a different kind of shoe. Every one of those is something a buyer can read off the box in a listing photo, before paying.

How the Reference Works

The first seven digits identify a style at one heel height. The last four characters are the colour code. The same style at a different heel height gets a different reference: the Kate 85 is 3191416BK01, the Kate 100 is 3191411BK01. The first digit is not a gender code, and we do not read any digit as a year. Louboutin has not published what the digits mean.

Colour codes we have confirmed: BK01 black, PK1A blush / nude, B439 black, black lining, N295 nude / blush, BWI3 havane (brown). References come from Louboutin's own product pages unless marked reseller-sourced. The list is short on purpose. A reference that is not on it is not a red flag.

Sizes on the Sole

The sole carries the EU size. Women's sizes run 34 to 43; men's run higher, to about 47. That is the range we have sourced, not an official limit. Every genuine pair in our archive writes a half size with the “½” character. A sole stamped “36.5” is worth a closer look. On a box label or in a listing, a decimal is normal.

What does not settle anything

The VERO CUOIO shield: older genuine pairs carry it, and so do fakes, including fakes of newer styles. The red sole's hue: the trademark names Pantone 18-1663TP, but colour shifts with lighting and is not a decisive test from photos. Cards and certificates: Louboutin issues none, so a plastic “authenticity card” in the box is a fake tell, and its absence is normal.

Frequently asked questions

Do Louboutins have serial numbers?
No. Christian Louboutin shoes carry no serial number, no date code, no NFC chip and no QR code. The only number is the reference on the box label: 7 digits plus a 4-character colour code, such as 3130694BK01. It identifies a style and colour, not your individual pair.
What does the number on a Louboutin box label mean?
The first seven digits identify a style at one heel height, and the last four characters are the colour code (BK01 is black, PK1A is blush). The So Kate 120 in black is 3130694BK01. The same style at another heel height has a different reference. Louboutin has not published what the individual digits mean, so they cannot be read as a year or a gender.
Does a matching box label mean my Louboutins are real?
No. Counterfeiters copy real labels and real reference numbers, and genuine boxes are sold on their own. A label that matches the shoe proves nothing. A label that describes a different style, heel height, size or colour is the useful finding, because it means the box and the pair did not leave the store together.
How are half sizes written on Louboutin soles?
Genuine Louboutin outsoles write half sizes with the ½ character, as in 36½ or 37½, below the signature and MADE IN ITALY. Every genuine pair in our archive does this. A sole stamped 36.5 is worth a closer look. On a box label or in a listing, a decimal half size is normal.
Do real Louboutins come with an authenticity card or certificate?
No. Louboutin's own FAQ says its boutiques do not issue certificates, and genuine pairs come with no authenticity card. A plastic card or a card promising guaranteed materials is a fake-packaging tell. Its absence is normal and tells you nothing either way.
Is the Vero Cuoio stamp on the sole a sign of fake Louboutins?
Not on its own. Older genuine Louboutins carry a VERO CUOIO shield embossed on the outsole, and the brand later dropped it. Fakes carry it too, including fakes of newer styles like the So Kate. Judge how cleanly the stamp is impressed rather than whether the shield is there.

Label checks out? The shoe still needs checking.
