Chanel Serial Number Checker
Enter the serial number from your Chanel bag's authenticity sticker to decode its approximate production period.
Enter your serial number
The serial number is on a white sticker sewn into the interior of the bag, usually inside a pocket. A matching number appears on the authenticity card. Common formats: 12345678 (pre-2019) or AB1234CD (post-2019). Spaces are ignored.
A serial number alone does not prove authenticity.
High-quality counterfeits include correct serial stickers and matching authenticity cards. Always evaluate stitching, hardware quality, leather texture, and quilting alignment alongside the serial number. Get a professional authentication →

No sticker on your bag?
Chanel did not use serial stickers before 1987. Vintage bags from the 1970s and early 1980s are completely normal without a sticker — authentication of these pieces relies on hardware, leather, and construction details rather than a serial number.
